Resident Engineer - KAD/RW/HQ00000033

Job description

Reporting to Senior Project Director; Qualifications B.Sc in Civil Engineering with at least 15 years experience of which 3 years will have been at similar level.

Job Profile

  • Represent KEO on site, will be the point of contact for KEO and will issue final KEO signatures on all correspondence at site.
  • Administer and manage all supervision works at site from works commencements till end of construction and issuance of taking over certificate.
  • Enforce the implementation of the approved site procedures and forms.
  • Chair meetings at site.
  • Maintain proper liaise with governmental authorities to assure smooth progress and early completion.
  • Direct and advise the site supervision staff in various issues as required.
  • Coordinate between the site team and the design team in case of design queries or replies to RFI's.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the contract requirements and monitor the contractor's fulfilment of these requirements at the various stages of the project
  • Discuss and agree the responsibilities matrix with the client.
  • Decide the flow charts procedures.
  • Final approval of the monthly report before issuance to the client.
  • Prepare and submit the supervision fees invoices to the client.
  • Final recommendation of the monthly interim payment certificate before issuance to the client.
  • Ensure that comments on submittals will not entail future variation orders.
  • Final approval / recommendation on the proposed subcontractors.
  • Issue final recommendation to the client about the contractual validity of any claim for variation orders.
  • Manage the process of project close out and ensure compliance of all contractual requirements.
  • Daily management of employees under your control.
  • Review of contractor's monthly report and comment as applicable.
  • Final comments / recommendation on any contractor's requests for materials substitutions.
  • Issue Site Works Instruction whenever needed.
