Reporting to Branch Manager Doha

Position

Head of Electrical Engineering with KEO International Consultants, an international, multi-disciplinary Architectural and Engineering Consultancy.

The position would be for the Doha office and requires an individual with excellent design abilities who will compliment and lead the existing design base of the company. The individual will be looking to broaden their level of experience and discipline exposure, by working with a key dynamic company involved in the design and implementation of some of the most prestigious and wide ranging commercial project types in the region.

Qualifications

A recognized degree holder with experience and qualifications in electrical field leading to the membership of a professional body in building services or electrical engineering. With a minimum of twelve years professional design experience with a medium to large design consultancy specialising in Building Services for various types of clients.

An individual who has been working, predominantly, in the commercial sector with a consultancy dealing with the equivalent of corporate clients, or a multi disciplinary consultancy. The individual having the ability to design medium to large size projects would be considered.

Requirements

•  Self motivated person who is reliable, responsible, adaptable and flexible, and who can respond to the challenges and frustrations presented by working in a demanding professional engineering environment.
•  Excellent design skills in Electrical and ELV disciplines
•  Able to demonstrate the necessary skills to competently lead a design team
•  Responsible for complete Electrical team and their working practice
  
•  Able to interface with both clients and other inter-office disciplines at senior level
•  Sector experience in building types of high rise, luxury villas, hotels, hospitals
  
•  Good command of written and spoken English.
  
•  Middle-Eastern experience in similar capacity is desirable but not essential.

Scope

The job requires an individual who has a sound basis of electrical engineering including low current systems (ELV), and excels in development of both practical and innovative designs that respond to the client requirements for a variety of market sectors. The individual has to be able to lead a design team to deliver practical solutions for designs for a wide variety of building types and clients. He / she must be able to take responsibility for all aspects of the assigned projects from concept development, detail design to tender package completion.

Skills

Sound practical design skills, current product awareness, preferably Arabic speaking with high level of fluency in written and spoken English, including technical English, the ability to coordinate with other MEP team members and disciplines within KEO is a prerequisite. Computer literacy is essential, as is good working knowledge of industry standard design software packages.
